Helix ‘Heavy Duty Cover Assembly’ has a higher clamp load (pressure) than the standard cover plate, which can cope with higher torque and increased engine rpm that a modified engine will have. The clutch also has a firmer clutch pedal feel for quicker gear changes.
The Drive plate (clutch plate) used in this kit features a sprung centre which is suitable for road and light track-day/competition use. The design features damper springs arranged radially around the hub centre which together with the facing segments provides progressive engagement and a greater degree of clutch control. The organic facing material is the best high performance material available.
The kit comes in two different options road and race for both the One/Cooper and Cooper S. The Cooper S kits also have the option to suit standard or aluminium flywheels, the One/Cooper clutch kit will fit both types of flywheel. The One/Cooper clutch kit will only fit gearboxes fitted to cars pre 07/2004. If you change the standard flywheel after the installation of the clutch then alternative plates can be sourced to suit. Please speak to us if you need an alternative plate.
Please note that the paddle clutch option does produce more engagment noise than the standard MINI clutch or Helix organic option.
